A really quite excellent column from Tom 'Mr Popular' Ewing over at Pitchfork, which accomplishes the not-inconsiderable feat of actually making me want to hear the new Britney Spears album. I did have a listen to 'Gimme More', and it is quite some piece of work - is that Sauron acting as a voice double on the chorus? And I actually like how deliciously self-referential-in-the-face-of-real-life-paparazzi-blitz it is. No doubt, given the current industry climate, there'll be oodles of copies going for the price of a hot meal in the January sales.
